Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT/CCHT) provides direct patient care to dialysis patients in a hospital setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The technician is responsible for the safe setup, operation, monitoring, and disinfection of hemodialysis equipment while delivering compassionate patient care in accordance with hospital policies, state regulations, and federal standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous dialysis experience preferred; acute hospital dialysis experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of dialysis principles, infection control, and emergency procedures
License/Certifications: Current Certified Hemodialysis Technician credential required (CCHT, CHT) in the state of California. Current BLS certification required.
Equipment: Experience with priming, operation, and disinfection of dialysis delivery system including operation of the portable reverse osmosis (RO) filter.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
