GSF Properties is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to join our team in Bakersfield, CA. If you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and being part of a successful apartment community, we'd love to hear from you!
In this role, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the community, assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collections, and administrative responsibilities while helping maintain high occupancy and resident satisfaction.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour, DOE
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) & Saturday (10:00 AM-2:00 PM)
- 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of the apartment community.
- Support leasing activities, including tours, applications, move-ins, and resident retention efforts.
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents.
- Respond to resident inquiries and help resolve concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with rent collections, notices, and resident account management.
- Maintain resident files, reports, and property records accurately.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and support office operations.
- Partner with the Property Manager to achieve occupancy, leasing, and performance goals.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure service requests and resident needs are addressed.

Requirements
Job Requirements – Assistant Manager
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Leasing, property management, or affordable housing experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to learn new software systems.
- Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling resident files and records.
- Professional, positive, and resident-focused approach to customer service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to take initiative.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work the scheduled hours, including Saturdays.
