The Data Governance Analyst will support the implementation and execution of Data Governance and Data Quality Management (DQM) activities across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The role involves monitoring data quality, supporting governance controls, coordinating with regional stakeholders, conducting data analysis, and contributing to the operationalization of global Data Governance initiatives. This position requires a strong understanding of banking data, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
Job Responsibilities:
Governance/ Change Management:
Perform day-to-day Data Governance activities supporting the APAC region.
Maintain Data Governance policies, procedures, operating manuals, and governance artefacts.
Organize and coordinate Data Governance working groups, including preparation of meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.
Track and monitor action items arising from regional and global governance forums.
Assist with Change Management, Periodic Assessments, and Data Governance Control activities.
Support the identification, documentation, and escalation of data quality issues.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc management reports and status updates for regional and global governance forums.
Data Quality Monitoring
Support the operationalization and continuous improvement of the Global Data Quality Management (DQM) program across APAC.
Perform data profiling, analysis, and interpretation to identify data quality issues and trends.
Conduct Data Harvesting activities to support governance and data management initiatives.
Execute daily DQM operational activities and investigate data quality exceptions.
Analyse and categorize weekly and monthly Data Quality reports across multiple branches within the region.
Prepare management reporting on DQ trends, root causes, remediation status, and risk indicators.
Coordinate with branch and regional stakeholders to obtain timely responses and remediation plans for identified issues.
Assist in ad-hoc data analysis, reporting requests, and governance initiatives.
Support Data Quality remediation and enhancement projects undertaken by the Data Governance department.
Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with regional and global stakeholders across business and technology teams.
Support process improvement, testing, and data quality projects under Data Governance.
Contribute to reporting automation and AI-enabled initiatives.
Maintain accurate documentation and governance records.
Job Requirements:
Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year of experience in banking or financial services, with exposure to customer, account, and transaction data.
Hands-on experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Analytics, or Data Management.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Experience with Alteryx and/or Python/R for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of Data Governance concepts such as Data Dictionaries, Key Data Elements (KDEs), Data Lineage, and Data Quality Monitoring.
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) and prompt engineering is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
Experience in data review, remediation, or data quality management within a banking environment is highly desirable.
Effective stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Well-organized with strong documentation and reporting discipline.
Willingness to support regional stakeholders across different time zones and take on ad-hoc assignments as required.
