We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst specializing in Data Use Governance to support the Global Information Security Data Governance team. The analyst will provide governance oversight for how data is requested, sourced, shared, provisioned, and consumed across applications, reports, analytics, APIs, event streams, AI/ML solutions, and other business and technology processes.

This role will manage Data Use Governance requests from intake through final disposition and publication. The analyst will evaluate business use cases, identify appropriate and authoritative data sources, determine applicable agreement and governance requirements, coordinate with data providers and consumers, facilitate required approvals, and confirm that supporting metadata, lineage, Data Quality controls, security requirements, and governance evidence are complete.

The successful candidate must be able to analyze both business and technical information, challenge incomplete or unclear requests, distinguish between data providers, data consumers, transport mechanisms, and persistence layers, and translate complex data flows into clear governance requirements and documented decisions. This is a hands-on governance role requiring independent judgment, strong facilitation skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple requests and stakeholders with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage Data Use Governance requests through intake, review, approvals, agreement creation, publication, tracking, and maintenance.

• Evaluate data use requests to ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, regulatory, and risk requirements.

• Partner with business, data, and technology teams to document business purpose, requirements, users, workflows, and expected outcomes.

• Review data elements, sources, transformations, delivery methods, and data flows to ensure appropriate use and governance compliance.

• Coordinate reviews and approvals with Data Owners, Data Custodians, Risk, Security, Privacy, and other stakeholders.

• Resolve incomplete, unsupported, or noncompliant requests while maintaining accurate governance records and supporting documentation.

• Support metadata management, including data catalogs, lineage, dictionaries, glossaries, registry records, and agreement documentation.

• Manage multiple concurrent requests and prioritize work based on business impact, risk, regulatory requirements, audit relevance, and project dependencies.

• Identify unauthorized or legacy data use, drive remediation efforts, and support exception and corrective action processes.

• Support audits, regulatory inquiries, governance reporting, and continuous improvement of governance processes, controls, templates, and stakeholder guidance.

Required Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Risk, Data Architecture, or a related discipline.

• 5 or more years of direct, hands-on experience in Data Use Governance, data-sharing governance, data-access governance, or a comparable data-consumption governance function.

• Demonstrated experience evaluating business use cases and determining the data, sourcing, approval, metadata, control, and evidence requirements needed to support an approved use.

• Experience working directly with upstream data providers and downstream data consumers to document and govern data-sharing relationships.

• Experience coordinating governance decisions across business, technology, security, risk, architecture, and data-management stakeholders.

• Experience identifying governance gaps, documenting findings, assigning remediation actions, and tracking actions through closure.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting Data Use Governance within an Information Security, Cybersecurity, Technology Risk, or other complex technology organization.

• Knowledge of Data Management industry standards, best practices, data management policies, data standards, and governance operating models.

• Experience governing data used in critical reporting, risk metrics, regulatory reporting, analytics, or operational decision-making.

• Experience supporting AI/ML or GenAI data use reviews, including business-purpose validation, sourcing, lineage, metadata, Data Quality, and enhanced approval requirements.

• Experience with enterprise metadata repositories, data catalogs, data lineage tools, or registry solutions.

• Experience with Jira, SharePoint, or comparable workflow and evidence-management tools.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Data-management or governance certification, such as Certified Data Management Professional, or comparable professional credentials.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$104,000.00 - $157,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
