The Senior Data Governance Analyst is a senior-level position that sits within the FRFS Data Office, and is responsible for leading the implementation and monitoring of data governance policies and analytics frameworks within FRFS. You'll operationalize governance through platform configuration, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration. This position is considered advanced level and performs work of moderate to high complexity. The incumbent works under general supervision and may lead some efforts autonomously. This job does not have any direct reports but may lead the work of junior staff.
Your Responsibilities
Data Governance Strategy and Policy
- Develop, maintain, and implement data governance policies, processes, and procedures aligned with business objectives
- Enforce activities ensuring compliance with data governance policies and target goals
Platform Administration & Configuration
- Configure and administer data governance platforms (Collibra, Immuta) to operationalize workflows
- Design governance workflows, approval processes, and stewardship assignments
- Create and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation
- Maintain information maps, retention schedules, and data catalogs
Data Quality & Analysis
- Perform in-depth research and analysis to identify data quality issues, relations, and dependencies
- Partner with data owners to map data structures, usage, and definitions within catalog platforms
Collaboration & Leadership
- Facilitate implementation of common data management practices across the organization
- Participate in and may lead Federal Reserve System (FRS) workgroups
- Serve as knowledge resource for data governance best practices
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of data governance or data management experience
- Hands-on experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or similar)
- Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage tools
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and quality requirements
- Collibra certification or professional data management certification (preferred)
- Scripting or programming experience (Python, JavaScript) for automation and platform customization (preferred)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) and modern data architecture (preferred)
Location:
- The selected candidate will reside within a reasonable commuting distance defined by employing Reserve Bank and will work full-time onsite.

The expected starting salary range for this position in Chicago is between $104,300 and $123,400 annually in addition to potential annual performance-based discretionary bonuses. Final salary and offer will be determined based on the employing Bank and the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
