Summary of Responsibilities:
• To provide HR advice and support to managers and clients on sickness, grievance and disciplinary
related matters as delegated by the Head of Employee Relations Services.
• To promote the HR service at all times through communications with all stakeholders.
• To support senior management in the promotion and facilitation of change, the review and
monitoring of implementation of policy within teams and support to improve the HR service
performance.
• To work flexibly in delivering a comprehensive HR Service to both SIPS Education Limited and its
client schools.
Responsibilities:
• To provide professional HR advice on discipline/grievance/harassment and other appropriate
policies to include attendance at meetings as required.
• To undertake investigations (disciplinary, bullying and harassment, grievance etc.) and to produce
• high-quality investigation reports in a timely manner when required.
• To provide professional HR support to HR projects and change processes.
• To provide a professional advice service to the interpretation of terms and conditions and locally
determined policies and procedures in relation to HR issues and employment law for all
employees.
• To provide HR support to managers under the management of attendance procedures with
attendance at meetings and support to specific initiatives identified as performance improvement
measures in this area.
• To design and deliver training courses to enhance the skills of managers including coaching of
managers in essential HR skills.

• To participate and support the SIPs Development Plan and to assist in the achievement of
performance measures.
• To actively promote good working relations with Trade Unions and Professional Associations
maintaining and developing appropriate consultative mechanisms including attendance at formal
TU meetings where appropriate.
• To provide professional input into the development of new and existing HR policies.
• To advise on HR implications from issues arising from safeguarding including attendance at
strategy meetings as required.
• To participate in the operation of SIP Education Limited’s Appraisal Scheme.
• It is your responsibility to carry out your duties in line with SIPS policy on equality and be sensitive
and caring to the needs of the disadvantaged, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious
working environment. You should act as an exemplar on these issues and should identify and
monitor training for yourself and any employees for whom you are responsible, in line with this
policy and also the Equalities Act 2010
• Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist SIPS in the
fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and
aptitudes
