Overview

Responsibilities
- Support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives.
- Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues
- Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.
- Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
- Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues.
- Conduct biotechnology research analysis.
- Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.
- Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
- Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology.
- Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
- Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.
Qualifications
-
- 10 years of experience of engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
- Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree
- TS/SCI Clearance
- Excellent writing, communication and briefing
Previous experience with:
- Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
- Engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
- Biotechnology programs.
- Biological and biotechnology experimentation
- Experimentation of biological effects for RF and directed energy weapons
- RF and directed energy capabilities.
