As a Manufacturing Development Engineering (MDE) Shift Engineer in Films, Metals, and Implant, you will play a critical role in supporting 24/7 process development for next-generation DRAM technologies. Operating on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, you will serve as the primary off-hours technical resource for development activities, helping ensure uninterrupted execution of development experiments and rapid technology learning.

This position operates in a dynamic development environment where process conditions, specifications, and experimental flows frequently evolve. You will apply sound engineering judgment to disposition development wafers, respond to process and equipment challenges, support experimental execution, and balance development priorities with operational requirements. You will also apply advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled technologies to improve engineering decisions, increase learning velocity, and support Micron's digital manufacturing initiatives.

### Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary off-hours technical resource for development activities, making decisions on wafer disposition, tool release, process deviations, execution risks, and development priorities.
• Partner with Films, Metals, and Implant Process Development, Process Integration, Equipment Development, Manufacturing, and Shift Operations teams to resolve process and equipment issues, remove output constraints, and support experimental processing.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC), E3, Fault Detection (FD) systems, and data analysis techniques to investigate excursions, identify root causes, improve process performance, reduce defects, and improve yield.
• Maintain documentation, reaction plans, process recipes, and procedures while supporting effective communication, change control, and early identification of issues that may impact safety, cycle time, yield, or operational performance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through development projects, PMI data collection, audits, benchmarking activities, and implementation of best-known methods.
• Apply Model-Based Problem Solving methodologies, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering decisions and operational effectiveness.
• Apply automation, data science, and AI technologies to strengthen data analysis capabilities, improve workflow efficiency, and accelerate development learning cycles.
• Foster a culture of safety, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement while supporting department and business objectives.

### Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related engineering field; OR Bachelor's degree with semiconductor manufacturing or process development experience.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Knowledge of Films, Metals, or Implant semiconductor manufacturing processes, process control methodologies, and engineering problem-solving techniques.
• Familiarity with SPC, DOE, E3 FD systems, and data-driven decision-making approaches.
• Strong analytical, communication, and technical problem-solving skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

### Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Films, Metals, or Implant process development and an understanding of the scientific principles that support semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Experience in Manufacturing Development Engineering, Process Development, and/or High-Volume Manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of semiconductor process integration, advanced process control systems, and manufacturing best practices.
• Experience with equipment diagnostics, database tools, advanced analytics, automation solutions, AI-enabled engineering applications, and large language models (LLMs) to improve workflow efficiency and engineering decision-making.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
