Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inspect and set up welding equipment for proper and safe use.
• Read and understand shop drawings, weld symbols and WPSs.
• Understand the requirements of the pertinent AWS welding code.
• Properly and safely handle work pieces using overhead crane equipment.
• Properly fixture work pieces on welding positioners to effectively weld in the proper position.
• Preheat and measure material temperature in preparation for production welding.
• Perform high quality welding using MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes.
• Monitor and control inter-pass material temperature during production welding.
• Clean and contour welds using hand and portable power tools.
• Effectively use distortion control techniques.
• Inspect in-process and completed welds for compliance with requirements prior to presentation for quality control inspection.
• Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 0-2 years of MIG welding experience
- 0-2 years’ experience in fabrication shop environment
- 0-2 years’ Experience with reading blueprints
- D1.5 knowledge preferred
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
Compensation:
The approximate pay range for this position is $22-$26/hour. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
