Compliance Intern - 6-months Internship starting 01.01.27
Based in Luxembourg, you will form part of an European team of 15 people responsible for the operational effectiveness of the Compliance Function at our offices across EU. As such, you will be supporting mainly AML/CFT compliance / financial crime risk activities to support our French and Belgian MLRO consistently to ensure that risks and vulnerabilities are identified, controlled and reported in an effective, timely and uniform manner.
Whilst the role focuses on the French and Belgian office AML/CFT activities, you will also be involved in the LOESA centralized coverage, working closely with the Luxemburg MLRO.
The Compliance department is currently looking for a student/trainee for a 6 months period, starting from 01/01/2027 until 30/06/2027.
YOUR ROLE
The job offers the possibility to acquire a good overview of the organization and the business activity of an international private bank, offering wealth management and related services to High Net Worth Individuals with offices in 6 different markets in Europe and the Head Quarter in Luxembourg.
Candidates will gain a good understanding of the products and processes in a private bank as well as the relevant Compliance risk and mitigations in a second line of defence control function.
Contribute to adequate management of the applicable risk type(s) by covering various tasks in the department in close cooperation with the French and Belgian MLROs and other compliance and business functions in the different offices of the Bank :
- Transaction monitoring alerts: Assist in the analyses of transaction monitoring alerts
- Screening monitoring alerts: Assist in the analyses of possible hits against sanctions lists, PEP,…
- Market abuse: Contribute in the analysis of personal transactions.
- Onboarding of new client: Contribute to the Bank’s Compliance Risk Management and perform relevant periodic and ad hoc controls (mainly on low risk account);
- General: Assist in administrative tasks in the area of the Compliance Function;
YOUR PROFILE
- Ongoing studies in Master/ BA in Finance, Economics, Legal or related areas
- Results-oriented, organisation/ prioritisation of tasks
- Open minded and quick learner
- Rigorous analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Understanding of the financial markets and products
- Basic knowledge of AML laws and regulations
- IT applications (Excel and Access advanced use)
- Knowledge in macros and/or VBA is an additional advantage
- English and French compulsory. Any other languages a plus.
