Job Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily accounting activities and supports the accuracy and timely completion of financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and accounts payable and receivable functions. This position works closely with management and the accounting team to maintain accurate financial records and ensure established accounting procedures are followed.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily accounting operations and accounting staff.
- Review and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payment activities.
- Review financial transactions and ensure accurate recording in accounting systems.
- Perform and review bank, account, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial reports and accounting schedules.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection activities.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, organized, and maintained in accordance with company procedures.
- Review invoices, payments, journal entries, and other accounting documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
- Coordinate with management, vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding accounting matters.
- Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.
- Assist with audits and provide requested financial documentation.
- Improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
