About the job

The Enterprise Technologies organization is looking for a Vice President, Enterprise Technologies to shape the platforms, products and digital capabilities that run our global business. This executive will define and execute the strategy, delivery model and ongoing evolution of the enterprise applications and capabilities that power SAS operations and enable a durable competitive advantage.

This is a high-impact opportunity to lead a global organization spanning major SaaS platforms and custom-developed solutions. You will partner with the C-suite and business leaders to keep mission-critical services secure, resilient, trusted and effective while simplifying the technology landscape, modernizing capabilities, improving adoption and responsibly applying emerging technologies.

As a Vice President, Enterprise Technologies, you will:

  • Define and execute the enterprise technology strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligned with company priorities and measurable business outcomes.

  • Own the health, performance, lifecycle and value realization of the enterprise technology portfolio, including major SaaS platforms, custom-developed applications, integrations and related capabilities.

  • Lead modernization and simplification of the application landscape through rationalization, technical-debt reduction, cloud and SaaS optimization, integration modernization and retirement of low-value or duplicative solutions.

  • Establish a strong enterprise-platform and product operating model with clear ownership, roadmaps, service expectations, funding choices, release practices and adoption measures.

  • Partner with business executives to translate strategy into scalable capabilities across finance, human resources, customer operations, sales, services and other corporate functions.

  • Create transparent portfolio governance and investment processes that improve prioritization, sequencing, accountability and benefits realization.

  • Strengthen architecture, engineering, data, security, risk and compliance practices while advancing the practical use of AI and automation with appropriate controls and measurable value.

  • Lead, coach and evolve a globally distributed organization of approximately 150 team members while building productive relationships with strategic vendors and systems integrators.

  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise applications, business technology, digital platforms or a related technology function, including significant executive-level responsibility.

  • Demonstrated ownership of a large, complex application portfolio supporting critical business functions and global operations.

  • Experience with major SaaS platforms and custom-developed software, including integration and lifecycle considerations across a heterogeneous environment.

  • A track record of leading enterprise-scale transformation, including strategy, operating model, technology modernization, organizational change and adoption.

  • Business and financial acumen, executive presence and demonstrated ability to influence C-suite leaders, navigate competing priorities and connect technology investments to measurable value.

  • Experience building, developing and leading diverse, globally distributed, high-performing teams while balancing long-term vision with decisive execution.

  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Additional competencies, knowledge and skills

  • Enterprise Strategy: Connects business priorities to a clear technology vision, portfolio roadmap and measurable outcomes.

  • Leading Change: Guides complex organizations through modernization, operating-model evolution and adoption while maintaining critical services.

  • Executive Influence: Creates alignment across senior stakeholders by communicating choices, tradeoffs, risks and outcomes clearly.

  • Experience serving as the senior-most enterprise applications or business technology leader in a global company.

  • Experience leading an organization of more than 100 professionals through significant portfolio and operating-model change.

  • Direct responsibility for platforms such as ERP, HCM, CRM, customer success, travel and expense, workflow, integration or enterprise automation.

  • Experience in enterprise architecture, platform engineering, data architecture, identity, integration and advanced data-management practices.

  • Experience with portfolio rationalization, post-implementation value realization, major vendor negotiations and systems-integrator governance.

  • Experience applying AI, intelligent automation and modern digital-experience patterns to enterprise workflows.
