Description
Build the future nobody's dreamed of yet... are you ready to rethink the impossible? As a Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for customer return analysis for automotive microcontroller products. You will work on understanding and reproducing customer-reported failures, performing in-depth technical analyses using advanced tools and equipment and providing expert guidance to ensure efficient resolution and continuous improvement. You will also apply your technical knowledge to support Cost Reduction activities such as test time reduction, test yield improvement, qualify Fab sites and qualify manufacturing flow transfers (from high-cost manufacturing to lower cost location). Understand and investigate production failures on lab bench for yield improvement Understand the customers failure description and reproduce failures in the application or at device level Define the failure origin as well as further analysis steps and perform the analysis using a test bench Use, adapt and develop our functional tests (i.e. application pattern) for reproducing the failure at our evaluation board Build-up a special measurement setup, including an oscilloscope and a debugger to stimulate the failure. Sometimes, the execution anddebugging of customer code will also be required Generate analysis reports and perform continuous updates to enableour quality and customer interface organization to provide regularstatus updates to our customers Generate special test cases for the localisation of defects in thedevice for Physical Failure Analysis preparation Define concepts for test program improvements if required Build up a technical focus area where you are our most experiencedengineer, e.g. Non-Volatile-Memory (NVM), SRAM, Mixed-signal / analog, High-Speed-Interfaces or test-program development You are an exceptionally self-motivated individual with an effective working style who can work in complex working environments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Furthermore, you have a great ability to tackle unexpected challenges, and you see problems as an incentive for constant improvement rather than a source of frustration. You must actively seek out knowledge from others and foster discussions to produce the best solutions. You contribute to a self-learning organization by building-up and keeping long-term know-how of several product families. Finally, you help to create an open and collaborative work environment. A Bachelor or equivalent degree in the field of Electronics,Electrical, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Physics or other technical fields Experience in electrical measurement methods: DC measurements, usage of oscilloscopes and frequency generators; physical background forsemiconductor measurements Knowledge in software development for (automotive) microcontrollerapplications Experience in microcontroller programming with C, Perl or Python Knowledgeable in semiconductor structures and manufacturingprocesses(i.e. special knowledge of NVM and or highspeed interface) Strong technical/analytical analysis capability - with primaryfocus on electrical analysis. Knowledge of semiconductor physics, failure mechanisms, andmanufacturing processes. Understanding of 8-D Methodology, Statistical Yield Analysis, SBL,DOE, FMEA, FTA, Fishbone Analysis, Is / Is-not, and Why-Why. Some experience in electrical failure analysis or product engineering and customer quality is a plus Candidates with little or no experience are welcome to apply. We are on a journey to create the best Infineon for everyone. This means we embrace diversity and inclusion and welcome everyone for who they are. At Infineon, we offer a working environment characterized by trust, openness, respect and tolerance and are committed to give all applicants and employees equal opportunities. We base our recruiting decisions on the applicant´s experience and skills.
