Shipping Clerk - Split Shift

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk - Split Shift at our Pinckneyville, IL facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.93 per hour, plus a $0.40 shift differential.

## What you’ll do:

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and supporting all shipping activities to ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient movement of finished goods to customers. This position plans and schedules truckload and LTL shipments, processes shipping documentation, supports order fulfillment activities, and maintains accurate shipping records within SAP and other business systems. Serves as a key liaison between Production, Logistics, Material Handling, carriers, and customers to ensure shipment schedules are met and customer requirements are fulfilled. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, the ability to safely operate forklift equipment, and the flexibility to work in both office and manufacturing environments while maintaining a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.

In this function, you will:

• Plan, route, and coordinate truckload shipments in partnership with the logistics team.
• Process delivery drops and print pick tickets for order handlers.
• Schedule less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers as business needs require.
• Coordinate with Production regarding finished-goods completion and availability for scheduled truckload shipments.
• Assist material handlers with established bundling procedures.
• Gather and consolidate orders from departments throughout the facility as needed.
• Enter, maintain, and verify shipping and order data accurately and timely.
• Use SAP to process, track, and support shipping transactions and related documentation.
• Safely operate forklift trucks and other authorized material-handling equipment.
• Apply strong knowledge of products and services to support an effective transition between production-floor and office responsibilities.
• Direct employees, truck drivers, and incoming traffic through designated plant areas while providing professional customer service.
• Communicate effectively with employees, drivers, carriers, Production, Logistics, and other internal partners.
• Maintain organized shipping records and coordinate priorities to support timely order fulfillment.
• Comply with all Eaton Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support shipping and plant operations.

## Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing, material handling, inventory control, or a related manufacturing support role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Prior forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing, order fulfillment, or a related manufacturing support function.
• Experience using SAP or a comparable enterprise resource planning system.
• Experience coordinating truckload and LTL shipments.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform material-handling activities throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 pounds using available mechanical assistance or team-lifting practices, as appropriate.
