Medical Director (Small Animal Practice) – Peterborough, NH
A well-established veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while continuing to practice medicine. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining high medical standards, and contributing to the continued development of a veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care
- Establish and maintain clinical standards and best practices
- Mentor and support associate veterinarians through coaching and case collaboration
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture
- Partner with practice leadership on workflow, scheduling, and clinical initiatives
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of veterinary team members
- Identify opportunities to improve medical quality, client experience, and practice performance
- Promote continuous learning and professional development
- Support regulatory compliance and appropriate medical protocols
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
- Active veterinary license or eligibility for licensure
- DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Previous leadership or mentorship experience preferred
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and medical excellence
- Ability to mentor and develop other veterinarians
