Position Summary- Human Resources Director:
Under direction of the President and Chief Executive Officer, will function as a solo HR department, performing a variety of tasks related to management of all aspects of Human Resources (excluding payroll functions) with Executive Assistant support as needed.
Is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the human resources functions and activities for First Federal employees. Utilizes experience and formal training to recommend and administer human resource systems in order to promote a high level of employee morale and produce a good return on the Company's investment in its human resources. Ensures that all laws affecting human resource management are consistently followed. Functions as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Principal Accountabilities: Formulates and maintains effective human resource policies and procedures to facilitate good human resource management practices which are ethical and follow applicable laws and regulations.
Recruiting and Retention: Administers the recruiting program and associated vendors and develops activities and practices to ensure First Federal remains an employer of choice. Will post open positions, oversee applicant tracking, interview preparation, background screening and new hire onboarding. Participates and creates company-wide activities that contribute to overall employee retention.
Performance Management: Manages all aspects of employee performance consistent with established laws and regulations. Will work with Leadership to develop and maintain an effective performance management system including assisting managers with performance based written documentation and goal setting.
Compensation Management: Develops and administers all aspects of the company compensation programs to ensure competitive and equitable compensation including preparing salary survey data for executive review, managing salary changes and participation in the creation and management of incentive programs.
Benefit Administration: Acts as primary administrator for all health and welfare benefit programs. Works directly with external insurance brokers and insurance vendors to ensure an effective program. Will administer leave of absence and COBRA programs. Will administer the company 401(k) plan.
Administration & Program Management: Develops and administers human resource procedures and ensures that said objectives and programs are implemented and followed by managers. Participates in monthly Board of Director & Compensation Committee meetings, presenting HR metrics and providing feedback. Files required annual federal and state reports. (i.e. EEO-1, Vets-4212 and OSHA 300 & 300A reports). Maintains personnel files, terminated personnel files and HR archive through retention schedules. Assists CEO in annual succession planning activities.
Will communicate regularly with all staff through announcements. Will maintain the employee handbook and all online HR files and folders.

Minimum Job Requirements:
•A.A., B.A or B.S. degree with 5 or more years of practical human resource management experience or advanced formal training in a human resource discipline required.
•Prior management/supervisory experience required.
•Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designations preferred.
•Experience in all operational aspects of human resources, as well as a demonstrated understanding of employment laws and regulations.
•Effective benefits administration and performance management skills.
•Proven leadership skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Viseo, Outlook and various company systems.
•Ability to use good judgment, critical thinking skills and make appropriate decisions.
•Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure with constant interruptions.
•Effective people skills to relate to a variety of managers, executives, directors, customers, and employees; public relations skills; tact, diplomacy, and patience.
•Solid math background and research skills to conduct human resource research and compensation analysis.
•Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and with a variety of employees, managers, executives, while maintaining a high level of organization.
•Ability to manage highly confidential information.
•Valid state driver's license, ability to travel to attend meetings, training, conferences and other related activities.
•Ability to meet bonding requirements for employment purposes.
