About mhp.si
Since 1972, mhp.si has been delivering marketing solutions driven by our core values of intensity, intelligence, and impact, with a promise to our clients: strategy, performance, and results, all while positively impacting their business through constant innovation. We’re a full-service agency made up of over 80 data geeks, creative dreamers, and strategy experts who push boundaries to deliver real results for our clients. We’re passionate about what we do and who we do it with, approaching every challenge with intensity, delivering performance through strategy, and innovating with intelligence to make a lasting impact for both our clients and communities.
We’re Arkansas' leading marketing agency, and we’re looking for a Performance Strategist to help us continue making waves.
Position Overview
The Marketing Performance Strategist is the connective tissue between a client’s business goals and the disciplines responsible for delivering them: media, marketing technology and creative. This role doesn’t buy media, build creative, or manage the client relationship. It makes sure every channel and every campaign is adding up to the outcome the client is paying for, and it closes the gap media alone can’t close: turning performance data, customer insights, and channel opportunities into new creative concepts the team can actually produce and test, not just optimizing what’s already running.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Translation: Convert client business objectives into a coherent performance strategy across media, digital media, and creative, so every discipline is working toward the same definition of success.
- Performance Oversight: Monitor how clients are tracking against their goals (ROAS, CAC, CPL, LTV, and similar metrics), using data from media, digital, and creative teams to spot where performance is off track and why.
- Creative Ideation from Insight: Turn customer insights, audience data, and channel-performance patterns into clear, testable creative concepts, so the creative team is producing and testing new ideas informed by what’s working, not just refining what already exists.
- Execution Direction: Work directly with media, digital media, and creative team members to shape the specific adjustments and new concepts a client’s strategy calls for, staying close to execution without taking on formal management of those team members.
- Client-Facing Strategy: Make recommendations directly to clients on performance, strategy, and next steps, alongside or in place of the account team, without taking on budget negotiation, contracts, or day-to-day account management.
- Client Service Collaboration: Work alongside account executives, senior account executives, and project managers as a strategic resource and peer, not a supervisor, helping them understand what’s driving results and what to prioritize next.
- Translation Both Directions: Turn specialist-level media and creative work into plain business language for clients and leadership, and turn client goals into direction that media and creative team members can act on.
- Benchmarking and POV: Stay current on media, digital, and creative trends and benchmarks so the agency’s strategic recommendations, and the creative concepts it originates, stay ahead of what clients are seeing elsewhere.
- New Business Support: Contribute a performance-informed point of view to pitches and account planning when needed.
- AI: Appropriately applies AI-assisted tools and technologies to job duties, following organizational guidelines on data privacy, security, and responsible AI use.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in marketing or advertising, with meaningful exposure to media, digital media, and creative disciplines.
- Fluent in performance metrics (ROAS, CAC, CPL, LTV, etc.) and what actually drives them, without needing to be the one pulling the reports or running the campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to turn customer insight, audience data, or campaign performance into original creative concepts and testable ideas, not just performance recommendations.
- Comfortable and credible in front of business owners, marketing directors, and CMOs, with the ability to translate complex performance data into clear business language.
- Comfortable directing the day-to-day work of media, digital media, and creative team members on a given account, without formal management responsibility for those team members.
- A strategist’s temperament rather than an account manager’s: someone who thinks in terms of what’s working, what hasn’t been tried, and why, not relationship management, contracts, or budgets.
Communication & Reasoning Ability
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Ability to apply logical reasoning to solve problems involving multiple variables.
Work Environment
- Normal office environment with hybrid work flexibility.
- Occasional travel may be required for client visits, presentations, or ad production.
- We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and bonus potential.
- Flexible hybrid work model.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Generous PTO and paid holidays.
- Ongoing professional development through training, mentorship, and community initiatives.
- Fun perks like Margarita Thursdays, holiday celebrations, and team-building events.
