Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.
Overview:
The team needs a senior developer to use vendor SDK and write code and develop new features and onboard new systems and corelate new payments for Payment Tracker.
Responsibilities:
- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
- Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
- Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Automates manual release activities
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
- Development/tech lead who participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies
- Provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource
- Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
- Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as architects, developers, data analysts and data modelers to understand dependencies, review designs and align roadmaps
- Summarize and interpret large amounts of data and gain insights that help discover new patterns and trends and do analytical reporting and find new business insights
- Contributes to the determination of technical and operational feasibility of solutions
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will lead a small team
- May collaborate with external programmers and offshore teams to coordinate delivery commitments & also works closely with Support teams, offshore teams, Platform teams and Business Partners
- Regularly communicate work progress with management, identifying issues early and resolving them quickly to avoid or minimize impact to projects
- Gather, refine and validate complex business requirements, interdependencies and potential risks or issues
- Application Ownership & Reliability: Monitor health, triage incidents, lead root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes
- Feature Leadership (IC): Provide technical direction, work breakdown, and delivery oversight; ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
- Security & Compliance: Lead vulnerability remediation (SCA/SAST, CVE triage, patching), secure configuration, and audit readiness
- Infrastructure & Environments: Manage non prod/prod configurations, CI/CD pipelines, capacity/performance tuning, and change controls
- Architecture & Standards: Align design to enterprise patterns (APIs, microservices, containers) and enforce coding/quality principles
- Data & Integrations: Validate API contracts, data accuracy, and search/index behavior; ensure consistency across services
- Observability: Maintain logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerts; conduct post incident reviews and reliability improvements
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with Product/Architecture/SRE; guide engineering practices (estimation, reviews, testing) and contribute to documentation/runbooks
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a developer in J2EE technologies and framework like Spring, SpringBoot, JDBC, JMS, SOAP/REST API, etc. for integration
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in a combination of full-stack enterprise application architecture, software development and infrastructure
- Experience in working with MVC, Apache/JBoss/JDBC/Hibernate, Maven
- Proficiency/experience with containers (OpenShift/Kubernetes )
- Solid experience in Logging, Caching (REDIS), Transaction Management, Multi-Threading/Concurrency, Performance Tuning, and Monitoring aspects of applications
- Solid experience with Oracle/Exadata; ability to navigate complex SQL scripts/queries/STOR PROCs and optimization
- Exposure and experience to No SQL Databases (Elastic, Mongo) etc
- Hands on vulnerability management (dependency upgrades, secure configs, SCA/SAST) and operating under enterprise change controls
- Infrastructure & CI/CD proficiency (pipelines, environment config; containers/VMs) and performance troubleshooting
- Observability tooling (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, DNT) and incident response experience
- Ability to work closely with Solutions Architects to design componentized solutions that align with an API-based integration strategy
- Ability to develop, review and comment on written technical documentation
- Understanding and usage of DevOps processes for the build and deployment
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Dev/Ops tools including Bitbucket, Ansible Tower, Jenkins and GitHub (Atlasian Suite/Horizon)
- 2+ years of experience working in Agile teams (Preferably Scaled Agile)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Exposure to financial services and payment lifecycles (initiation → processing → settlement → proof of completion)
- Data engineering fundamentals (ETL, schema evolution, data quality checks) and basic automation testing (API/UI)
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role
