You're a natural leader who thrives on keeping a complex operation running safely and smoothly. You know your way around activated sludge and disinfection processes as well as you know how to coach a team, and you move easily between diagnosing a mechanical issue on the floor and presenting a budget update to leadership. You take regulatory compliance seriously — EPA and ADEQ permit limits aren't paperwork to you, they're the standard you hold your team to every day. Whether you're facilitating a staff meeting, walking a facility tour, or fielding a call from an outside agency, you communicate clearly and lead with credibility.
At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward-thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of specialized or technical training beyond high school
- Associate degree or technical certificate in environmental science, wastewater operations, or a related field
- Five years of experience in wastewater treatment processes, including mechanical, chemical, and biological systems
- Two years of supervisory or lead experience
- ADEQ Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification at time of hire (or equivalent certification transferable to Arizona within 3 months)
- Arizona Class D Driver License required
This position requires a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
This position has been designated as a Medium work position that spends a majority of their workday in a field/hazardous environment.
