Pay Range:

$35.50 - $53.25

You will be responsible for the cultivation and development of corporate and foundation relationships, based on a portfolio of assigned prospects as designated by the Director. Responsible for overseeing the establishment of new corporate and foundation relationships that will lead to major gifts. CFR Officer II will secure visits with institutional leaders that will lead to philanthropic partnerships. The CFR Officer II works closely with and in support of an assigned portfolio of Platform Leaders to ensure that a full complement of foundation, corporate, and/or other organizational fundraising is achieved. Develops platform CFR support plans and executes plan in partnership with the Platform Leaders.

Essential Functions

  • In support of Platform Leaders, define and execute a plan focused on expanding and enhancing corporate and foundation relationships for assigned platform(s).

  • Emphasize developing high-value foundation relationships that result in six-figure plus philanthropic commitments to support the mission and goals of WFBMC.

  • Within specified platforms, provide coordination for all corporate and/or foundation proposal and relationship plan development, including sponsorships, outright gifts, gifts in kind, pledges, grants, and any other forms of financial support and philanthropic partnership.

  • Manage a portfolio of 120+ prospects and orchestrate solicitation of prospects and ongoing stewardship, with a focus on more significant gifts of $250K–$750K.

  • Advise faculty, administrators, and staff on corporate and foundation areas of interest, cultivation strategies, corporate and foundation special requirements, and the development and presentation of proposals.

  • Initiate opportunities for faculty, administrators, and deans to interact with corporate and foundation prospects and interpret corporate and foundation interests to university constituencies.

  • Develop highly competitive proposals for corporate and foundation prospects and leverage diverse corporate and foundation goals and preferences in conjunction with Medical Center goals.

  • Maintain a rigorous schedule of contacts with corporate and foundation representatives, creating moves management plans, compelling presentations, and comprehensive fundraising proposals.

  • Maintain a high degree of awareness of proposal deadlines for assigned prospects and manage proposal submissions.

  • Maintain a high-quality stewardship process for active corporate and foundation prospects and donors.

  • Leverage all available tools, such as Foundation Directory and research reports, to fully investigate organizational interests and prepare for in-person cultivation opportunities.

  • Pursue all avenues of cultivation opportunities, including visiting program officers, inviting site visits, conducting post-decision debriefing discussions, and regularly sharing programmatic and research information and updates.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and five years
  • Successful work experience in major gift fundraising or seven + years in combined personal sales/fundraising experience with executive level cultivations. Knowledge of corporate and foundation giving processes is required.
  • Evidence of having achieved either significant major gift closures or similar relationship based sales success.
  • Ability to manage travel required.

  • Demonstrated skills in networking, communicating, and building relationships with foundation leaders, including CEOs.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Experience assessing business and foundation interests and determining cultivation strategies with sensitivity to organizational dynamics.

  • Ability to apply major giving expertise to corporate and foundation support.

  • Ability to define and advance proposals that match business and foundation needs and interests to the programs of WFBMC.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written communications, grant writing, and proposal writing.

  • Ability to translate technical medical research and programs into layperson language.

  • Demonstrated strengths in working across complex constituencies and building collaborations.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is driven by quantifiable results.
