What You'll Do

The Non-traditional Student Engagement Specialist AmeriCorps VISTA will further College Possible's efforts to close the degree divide by building capacity to support non-traditional and unenrolled college students facing barriers to persistence. The VISTA will strengthen organizational capacity to address college access, affordability, and postsecondary success for students from low-income backgrounds. They will develop sustainable engagement strategies for student parents and stopped-out students, expand communication tools and resource-sharing systems, and evaluate curriculum to improve support for students who may not engage in traditional one-on-one coaching.

Member Duties

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will strengthen College Possible's capacity to support nontraditional, unenrolled, and stopped-out college students.

• Analyze historical data and develop a Specialized Engagement Toolkit with workflows for re-enrollment, student parent grant processing, and transitioning students into appropriate support.
• Create a multi-channel communications calendar and resources, including re-enrollment guides, academic reminders, and funding opportunities.
• Evaluate and develop training materials for the "Students Navigating Higher Education Independently" curriculum.
• Refine Salesforce tools to track re-enrollment outcomes, student parent participation, and barriers to persistence, and document engagement workflows, communication templates, and community resources to ensure the model is sustainable for future staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• You are a U.S. citizen; AmeriCorps members are required to be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents
• Bachelor's degree required
• You must clear a National Service Criminal History Check and all other security and requirements set forth by College Possible.
