Quality Engineer
Evansville, IN | Silgan Closures
We're seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Evansville, IN team. What You'll Do:
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations, driving quality improvements, and ensuring products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Apply statistical tools such as SPC, Process Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Root Cause Analysis to improve manufacturing processes
Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes and products through data-driven decision making
Perform dimensional inspections and testing using appropriate metrology equipment and quality tools
Analyze inspection results and prepare technical reports, recommendations, and documentation
Develop, implement, and maintain inspection methods, gauging systems, and measurement procedures
Support calibration and maintenance of laboratory and quality assurance equipment
Guide quality inspectors in daily testing, inspection, and problem-solving activities
Assist with the maintenance and compliance of SQF and Quality Management Systems
Lead and support corrective action, continuous improvement, and quality-focused projects
Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, R&D, and Technical Services to solve quality concerns
Automate quality inspection and measurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Manage Product Hold for Inspection inventory and OEM-related quality processes as needed
We need you to have:
Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or a related role
Knowledge of statistical analysis tools including SPC, Process Capability, and DOE
Experience with quality systems, GFSI programs, SQF, ISO, or similar quality management systems preferred
Leadership experience preferred
