Department Overview

With the strength of the Rakuten Point market, which has surpassed 5 trillion yen in total issuance, we are building the "Rakuten Economic Circle" through service collaboration with Rakuten Group companies and the introduction of cashless settlement services in real stores, which are growing at an accelerated pace.

Our settlement services can be used at approximately 6 million online and offline locations, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and shopping malls nationwide, as well as at approximately 1 million locations where traffic-related e-money can be used, and the number of locations where this service can be used is continuing to expand.

This System Division handles everything from system service planning related to payment services, planning and implementation related to UI/UX, basic and detailed system design, coding, testing, and operation.

As the service expands, you will be able to experience the planning, development, and operation of a very large-scale system.

In addition, you will be able to improve our services by directly listening to the voices of our customers.

You will be in charge of development and maintenance of an electronic money service called Rakuten Cash, which is used in various

situations such as the Rakuten Pay app and Rakuten Ichiba.

It is a position that requires a wide range of excellent

skills such as service level, performance requirements, quality requirements,

large-capacity data manipulation and other system linkage, understanding the

complicated and difficult business logic peculiar to financial services. You

can make a solid leap as an application engineer.

Especially, those who are motivated and can improve their skills to engineer leaders. In addition, there are career paths that specialize in technology as specialists such as

architects, or career paths as managers such as project leaders.

Position:

Position Details

・ Design and development of business logic such as API and batch processing

・ Design and development of business flow / business screen, etc.

・ System maintenance and operation

・ Leading the engineer organization

・ Rakuten's many platforms and

infrastructure-related application windows

・ Formulation of technical guidelines, technical reviews, training of next-generation engineers (as an engineer leader)

・ Finding issues and promoting improvement activities in the team

Work Environment

・ The age of the people in the organization is about 20s and 40s.

・ Employee Background: There are many people who have experience in developing Web services and business systems.

・ Development Environment: Linux, MySQL Java, PHP Docker K8s, Google Air

Flow

Mandatory Qualifications:

・ Implementation experience in Java (5 years or more)

・ Experience in designing and implementing open systems (more than 5 years)

・ Knowledge and experience regarding databases and system infrastructure

・ English (Business Level or level to read technical materials and respond to emails and chats)

Desired Qualifications:

・ Experience in developing and operating mission-critical systems

・ Experience in developing and operating services for consumers

・ Experience in developing large-scale, large-capacity systems

・ Curiosity and challenge spirit for new services and technologies

・ Knowledge about payment and points

・ Knowledge and experience regarding microservice architecture

・ Japanese (Conversational level is preferred)
