Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in audit and assurance focus on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information enhancing the credibility and reliability of this information with a variety of stakeholders. They evaluate compliance with regulations including assessing governance and risk management processes and related controls.

In digital assurance at PwC, you will focus on providing assurance services over clients' digital environment, including processes and controls, cyber security measures, data and AI systems, and their associated governance, to help organisations and their stakeholders build trust in their technology while complying with relevant regulations.

Job Summary:

The Technology Consulting team at PwC takes pride in helping both our clients and our internal teams to solve problems using leading tools and technology. Our specialist development teams build solutions using the latest capabilities available from our global network of relationships and Alliances including with Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, Workiva and others.

With a dedicated team of onshore and offshore developers, we work with clients and teams to understand business processes, shape requirements and then design, build and run well governed technology solutions to address business needs. Our capabilities support a wide range of businesses and industry sectors, across the Channel Islands with a focus on Financial Services.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Technology Consulting practice, you will work as part of a multi-functional engagement team, interacting directly with clients and internal teams. You will also have excellent opportunities to be involved in strategic initiatives and provide input into shaping the future direction of our practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of client-facing and internal technology projects, from initial discovery and requirements definition through to implementation and ongoing support.

  • Undertaking project management activities, including defining scope, plans, milestones and responsibilities, and managing delivery to agreed time, budget and quality expectations.

  • Acting as a technical product owner for solutions developed by the team, setting priorities and translating business objectives into clear requirements, user stories and deliverables.

  • Working with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business processes, facilitate workshops and define functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Managing and prioritising project and product backlogs, balancing business value, technical dependencies, delivery risk and team capacity.

  • Providing clear direction to onshore and offshore development teams, coordinating their work and holding team members accountable for the delivery of high-quality outcomes.

  • Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, communicating business needs clearly to developers and explaining technical considerations to non-technical audiences.

  • Working with developers and solution architects to challenge proposed designs and ensure solutions are maintainable, secure, scalable and proportionate to the business need.

  • Providing clear and timely reporting to senior stakeholders on project progress, risks, issues, financial performance and required decisions.

  • Proactively identifying and resolving delivery issues, risks and dependencies to maintain project momentum.

  • Building trusted relationships internally across the PwC network and externally with senior client stakeholders.

  • Coaching and developing junior team members and contributing to the continued development of the Technology Consulting practice.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Strong academic background, such as a bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business or another relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Project Management certification, such as AgilePM Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Certified/Professional Scrum Master with demonstrable credentials applying traditional waterfall, DSDM and Agile.

  • AgileBA, IIBA CBAP/CCBA, PMI-PBA, CSPO/CSPO, the International Diploma in Business Analysis or an equivalent qualification.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential skills:

  • Significant experience of successfully managing the end-to-end delivery of technology projects, digital products or software-enabled transformation initiatives. within a professional services or consulting environment.

  • Experience of leading and coordinating software development teams, including onshore and offshore resources.

  • Deep project management experience in a lead role with strong organisation skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and an accompanying certification.

  • Strong business analysis skills, including requirements definition, stakeholder workshops, process analysis, user stories and acceptance criteria, preferably with accompanying certification.

  • Experience of operating as a product owner, technical product owner or equivalent, including managing and prioritising a delivery backlog.

  • Sufficient technical understanding to engage credibly with developers and solution architects and make informed decisions regarding solution design, dependencies and technical risk.

  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation and ongoing support.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to report to and constructively challenge senior client and internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal communication, facilitation, presentation and report-writing capability.

  • Strong team-working and people-management skills, with experience of delegating work, providing feedback and developing junior staff.

  • Ability to work autonomously without the need for day-to-day direct management.

  • Experience of following formal methodologies and applying appropriate risk, quality, security and governance standards.

  • Understanding of how AI tools and technologies can be responsibly applied to project delivery and software development.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of the Financial Services sector and familiarity with the local Channel Islands market.

  • Experience of Microsoft technologies, including Azure, ADO, Power Platform and Power BI.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, databases, systems integration and DevOps practices.

  • Experience of project and product management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira or Confluence.

  • Experience of developing or implementing bespoke applications, workflow, automation, data or AI-enabled solutions.

  • Familiarity with the security, privacy and governance considerations associated with cloud, data and AI technologies.


Travel Requirements:

Limited travel will be expected in this role.
