The Opportunity:
As a Data Integration & AI Automation Engineer supporting US Army Europe & Africa Intelligence Directorate, and the US Army Counter-Intelligence Command’s Region V, you will embed at McCully Barracks in Wackernheim, Germany, and may travel as required to perform services at other locations within the USEUCOM or USAFRICOM AOR or Area of Interest (AOI) to meet mission requirements in both CONUS and OCONUS locations. The USAREUR-AF TMISS Team will research, analyze, and produce near- and long-term all source assessments on terrorism / counterterrorism, and multi-discipline counter-intelligence issues.
Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise data modernization and mission automation for ACIC Region V. You will engineer ontology‑driven integrations across Maven Smart Systems (MSS), Palantir Foundry, Vantage, and cArmy; design and deploy intelligent software agents that automate analytic workflows and reporting; and build real/near‑real‑time operational tracking and visualization capabilities that provide a unified counterintelligence picture across EUCOM, CENTCOM, and AFRICOM.
Develop and implement a holistic data ecosystem using open standards/APIs; architect data management frameworks, access models, and integration strategies to organize, correlate, analyze, and visualize approved mission data.
- Design, test, and deploy intelligent software agents to automate complex analytical tasks, proactive anomaly detection, and auto‑generation of intelligence products (e.g., reports, situational awareness slides, SITREPs, continuity of operations maps).
- Engineer specialized tracking and visualization tools: Exercise & Technology Tracker; GIS incident mapping for Red/Blue CI events with geocoding and temporal analysis; centralized IT status dashboards with automated alerting; DBIDS foreign‑national access tracking with watchlist cross‑references.
- Stand up MSS decision‑support capabilities on IL6 SIPR/NIPR; integrate platform ontologies and configure hybrid multi‑cloud within ACIC’s cArmy environment; provide advanced technical support and training to government personnel.
- Modernize manual processes by re‑engineering static Excel/PowerPoint products into dynamic, automated dashboards and templates; build secure data pipelines, templates, and AI/ML‑enabled tools to streamline operations and reduce staff time.
- Support data governance and platform configuration; conduct data validation/quality checks; and develop/maintain technical documentation, SOPs, user guides, process maps, data‑flow diagrams, training and transition materials.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI (ability to complete a CI‑scope polygraph; SAP access eligibility may be required).
- Education/Experience (SOFA‑mapped; meet one): Bachelor’s + 3 years; Associate’s + 7 years; Major certification + 7 years; or 11 years of recent specialized experience.
- Hands‑on experience in data/platform integration, API engineering, and mission automation within secure, high‑availability environments.
- Proficiency with Palantir Foundry OSDK (TypeScript, Python) and SQL; experience with big‑data tools (Apache Spark or Hadoop).
- Experience designing secure data pipelines, entity/knowledge graph modeling, and cross‑enclave data management with tiered classification and RBAC.
- Ability to build operational dashboards and GIS visualizations; familiarity with Tableau/Power BI and geospatial tooling (e.g., ArcGIS).
- Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills; excellent communication and collaboration with analysts, targeteers, and operations personnel.
- Work Setting: On‑site at McCully Barracks, Wackernheim, Germany; Core Hours 0900–1500; extended business hours as needed (mission‑driven).
Desired:
- Experience deploying MSS capabilities on IL6 SIPR/NIPR and configuring hybrid multi‑cloud environments within cArmy.
- Demonstrated success implementing ontology‑driven peering among MSS, Foundry, and Vantage with automated workflow orchestration.
- Background supporting ACIC or similar CI missions, including DBIDS data integration, watchlist correlation, and GIS‑based incident mapping.
