Capital Medical Group and The George Washington University Hospital seek a full-time Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our expanding academic cardiovascular program.
This is a unique opportunity for an academic cardiologist who enjoys caring for patients with advanced heart failure while helping grow a comprehensive Advanced Heart Failure program. The successful candidate will lead the care of patients with advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, cardiogenic shock, pulmonary hypertension, and mechanical circulatory support within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Working alongside nationally recognized specialists in electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, cardiac surgery, and cardiac imaging, you will play a central role in delivering advanced cardiovascular care while educating the next generation of cardiologists.

Clinical Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and complex cardiovascular disease.
- Serve as attending physician in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
- Provide inpatient Advanced Heart Failure consultation services.
- Participate in the Advanced Heart Failure call schedule.
- Evaluate and manage patients requiring temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support.
- Collaborate closely with cardiac surgery, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart, critical care, and general cardiology teams.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality initiatives, and program development.
- Help expand innovative heart failure and mechanical circulatory support services.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (or eligible for certification)
- Expertise in advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the District of Columbia
