- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs for commercial glazing systems including curtain wall, storefront, entrances, and glass packages
- Prepare accurate project estimates and bid proposals
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
- Maintain organized bid documentation and estimating records
- Coordinate with project managers and operations teams during project turnover
- Assist with clarifications, revisions, and pricing updates throughout the bidding process
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and internal project reviews
- Ensure awarded projects are accurately transferred into production and project management workflows
- Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, suppliers, architects, and customers
- Respond to bid requests, RFIs, and scope clarifications in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to support scheduling and procurement efforts
- Work closely with sales, drafting, project management, and field teams
- Assist in refining estimating processes, templates, and workflows
- Support a collaborative culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and customer service
Qualifications:
- 2–5+ years of estimating experience in commercial glazing, construction, or building materials preferred
- Knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, entrances, and commercial glass systems strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore, or GDS is a plus
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license preferred
