The OB Nurse’s Assistant is a Medical Assistant responsible for supporting the OB Nurse and the operational functions of the OB Office. This role involves assisting with day-to-day tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office and the delivery of exceptional care to the OB patients. The Assistant to the OB Nurse contributes to maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Job Description: Assistant to the OB Nurse
Key Responsibilities
- Provides support to the OB Nurse in managing the operational needs of the OB Office.
- Assist with patient education by preparing materials and answering general questions under the guidance of the OB Nurse.
- Act as a point of support for patients, addressing basic inquiries and directing them to the OB Nurse of physician for further assistance.
- Schedule inductions and C-sections
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the OB Nurse and physicians.
Qualifications / Valued Skills
- Prior experience in obstetrics and gynecology is required.
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the OB Nurse, physicians, and other staff members.
- Familiarity with EHR systems, particularly EPIC, is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Professional demeanor and a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
- Work Environment
- Clinical office setting with regular interaction with patients and healthcare staff.
- A moderate-paced environment that requires efficiency and organization.
- Collaboration with the OB Nurse and other team members to meet patient needs.

- Ability to perform administrative and clinical tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
