Overview
As a Project Management Leader at AVI-SPL, you will support the direction and execution of an office Project Management group and directly manage assigned projects. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Responsible for supporting the direction and execution of an office Project Management group and the direct Project Management of assigned projects. This position will ensure high quality project deliverables meet time, scope, budget, and customer satisfaction expectations. Deliverables will be met through direct leadership, individual and team development, adherence to AVI-SPL processes and policy standards in coordination with local Operations Management (the Manager, Project Management where applicable) and the VP, Project Management.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide support and direction for the office PM group and engage in the direct management of
- assigned projects to allow time to operate equally in both capacities properly.
- Learn, support and train PM track resources AVI-SPL standard process and procedures within the
- AVI-SPL Operations Playbook, utilizing tools approved and provided by AVI-SPL.
- Support the office Project Management team through collaboration, guidance, and performance
- oversight in coordination with local Operations Management, VP, and Project Management.
- Provide leadership and guidance to local Project Management team to ensure projects are well planned, organized, and communicated throughout full project execution.
- Share, teach and reinforce the use of AVI-SPL standard practice across the team.
- Assist the Project Management team in proper project planning, forecasting, schedule development, change management strategies, and resource needs.
- Review ongoing project financial metrics and initiate appropriate tactics to bring project budgetary goals into alignment.
- Act as an escalation point for the team to help resolve project issues.
- Guide the Project Management team to elicit project results that satisfy customer requirements to obtain AVI-SPL Net Promoter Score goals.
- Ensure efficient and effective Project Management training; provide direction where deficiencies exist.
- Provide individual PM performance feedback to Operations Management.
- Interface directly with clients on projects as required to ensure positive project outcome and customer experience.
- Execute team development strategies targeted to ensure skill enhancement, collaboration, and success of the Project Management team.
- Assist in project assignments for Project Management team members, matching skill set and project complexity.
- Conduct ongoing performance reviews of team members and make staffing and hiring recommendations based on the outcomes of these reviews.
- Promote leadership through collaboration, cooperation, and communication across functions within the office to strengthen Project Management outcomes.
- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
- Demonstrated experience managing Project Management teams in the Audio Visual,
- Construction, Technology (Structured Cabling / Security) or related industry.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the Audio-Visual industry.
- Advanced knowledge and application of Project Management skills and techniques.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environment to create alignment within the Project Management team.
- Proven ability to significantly contribute toward or lead operation initiatives with a results oriented approach.
- Ability to mentor, educate, and develop members of the team.
- Ability to understand the team and provide solutions for optimal performance.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- Excellent capability to switch tasks while adapting to changing priorities.
- Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Employees operating company or personal vehicles for business purposes must be legally authorized to drive, maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of coverage, meeting all minimum required insurance coverage as a condition of employment.
• Employees driving fleet vehicles must meet eligibility requirements; comply with all guidelines, including telematics monitoring, vehicle maintenance schedules, proper use of assigned fuel and toll devices.
Nice-To-Haves:
- Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) or PRINCE2-Practitioner Certification.
- Formal education in Audio Visual, Construction, Technology, or related field.
