ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
Carl Zeiss Semiconductor Fab Solutions develops solutions for wafer inspection, such as the world’s fastest electron microscope, the “ZEISS MultiSEM.” You have the opportunity to become part of a dedicated, interdisciplinary development team and to further develop our products through new or optimized concepts, playing a decisive role in shaping them.
If you’re ready for exciting, responsible, and challenging tasks that will allow you to play a key role in shaping the future, then join us at our Oberkochen location and take on the following responsibilities:
Your Role:
- Design responsibility for mechanical assemblies and modules
- Close collaboration with top experts across the entire MultiSEM team and the development of innovative solutions in the field of mechanics
- Conceptualize, design, further develop, and bring the MultiSEM’s mechanical assemblies and module components into series production
- As part of our development process, take responsibility for work packages and lead subprojects as needed
- Create and modify production-ready 3D models, drawings, bill of materials, and work instructions
- Demonstrate your skills through exciting new developments for new, dynamic markets
- Document and communicate development results, and present them internally as well as to customers and international development partners
Your Profile:
- an excellent degree (Master’s/Diploma) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics with a focus on mechanical engineering, or a comparable engineering degree, as well as an above-average high school diploma or equivalent
- at least 3 years of professional experience in the design of precision mechanical or mechatronic systems, preferably in vacuum and/or high-voltage technology (ideally in the field of electron microscopy)
- Experience and very good knowledge of CAD (preferably SolidWorks and Creo), SAP, and MS Office
- An independent, systematic, goal-oriented, and meticulous approach to work; a quick grasp of new concepts; high flexibility; a strong willingness to learn and perform; excellent teamwork and communication skills; and a confident and friendly demeanor
- Willingness to take on organizational tasks/work packages, coordinate with external development partners, and undertake occasional business trips or assignments abroad with our international customers or partners
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills, and the qualifications required to obtain “Known Consignor” status (aviation security)
Ideally, they will have the following optional knowledge and experience:
- CAD migration and/or PLM system experience (Teamcenter)
- Materials science and surface science
- Bill of materials, configuration, and change management
