Our mission is to contribute to the development of the nation's human resources by providing innovative and enjoyable educational opportunities.We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Assistant Director, Digital Synthesis to drive the use of AI and data analytics in strengthening internal operations, improving productivity, and supporting better organisational decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in advancing practical, responsible, and scalable digital solutions across Science Centre Singapore and New Science Centre.
[What you will be working on]
As Assistant Director, Digital Synthesis, you will lead the development and execution of the AI and Data workplan in alignment with organisational goals. You will identify and prioritise high-impact use cases, including dashboards, analytics models, workflow automation, and AI-assisted tools, to improve decision-making, streamline internal processes, and enhance staff productivity. In this role, you will oversee initiatives across data engineering, analytics, machine learning, generative AI, data visualisation, and the adoption of intelligent tools for internal staff.
You will also work closely with business units to understand operational pain points, translate business needs into actionable insights, and modernise internal workflows through data, AI, and automation capabilities. In addition, you will strengthen data governance, AI governance, data quality, metadata management, access control, and responsible AI practices to ensure trusted and secure use of data and technology. Working with HR and relevant stakeholders, you will help develop data, AI, and digital competency frameworks, training programmes, playbooks, and communities of practice to build staff capability and encourage wider adoption. You will also ensure compliance with relevant policies, standards, cybersecurity, data protection, governance, financial, and performance management requirements, while leading, coaching, and developing staff to achieve organisational objectives.
[What we are looking for]
The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or an equivalent discipline. You should have at least 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in data analytics, AI adoption, digital transformation, process improvement, product management, and/or ICT delivery, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-level data or AI-enabled productivity initiatives.
You should have strong competencies in data strategy, data governance, analytics, AI use case development, workflow automation, process redesign, product management, Agile delivery, service design, and stakeholder engagement. Strong leadership, people management, vendor management, and the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams across business, data, and technology domains are essential. The role also requires excellent analytical, conceptualisation, problem-solving, and change management skills, together with strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
