Interventional Radiologist

Description

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing the Bronx VA Medical Center with Onsite Interventional Radiology Physician. The Physician is expected to do the following:  

 The James J Peters Medical Center Interventional Radiology Section is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. The IR department provides service 24 hrs/7 days a week with on-site clinical hours and on-call emergency coverage.

 IR Department hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm. IR Department hours shall be extended when necessitated by clinical need for IR services. 

• The physician must possess sufficient computer skills needed to work with advanced PACs and voice recognition systems.
• The radiologist will be responsible for timely interpretation and communication of the imaging results (including entry into digital medical record and verbal notification of critical findings).
• The radiologist is required to provide consultation services, comparative reports and participate in clinical conferences/committees as requested by referring physicians.
• The physician is responsible for the overall safety of imaging patients, including oversight of contrast administration and response to adverse patient reactions. Safety also includes reviewing requests and ensuring the appropriate imaging protocols, preparations and medications have been ordered.
• Will assist, train, supervise and mentor radiology residents in the performance of procedures and interpreting studies. 
• The radiologist will be required to provide education and training to members of the medical staff through various conferences, committees and lecture series 
• May be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational and administrative committees, task groups or special projects. 
• The radiologist will participate in quality control/quality management (including department and hospital review level peer reviews). 

Requirements

• Valid BLS 
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
• Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
