Job Description
Compliance monitoring and assurance
- Design, own, and operate a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Framework that systematically tests the effectiveness of controls against regulatory requirements.
- Ensure monitoring outputs are evidence-based, reportable, and capable of withstanding regulatory scrutiny.
- Identify control weaknesses and drive timely remediation in partnership with business functions.
Regulatory horizon scanning and advisory
- Lead the firm's regulatory horizon-scanning capability, translating global regulatory developments into actionable intelligence for the business.
- Provide a global regulatory advisory service to internal stakeholders, ensuring emerging obligations are assessed and embedded ahead of compliance deadlines.
- Maintain oversight of the Gifts & Hospitality and Conflict of Interest frameworks.
Policy and training
- Ensure all compliance-related policies and procedures are current, proportionate, and consistently applied across the organisation.
- Oversee the design and delivery of compliance training, ensuring completion rates are tracked and reported.
- Oversight of the Ethics Hotline and Whistleblowing Framework, ensuring triage and escalation processes are robust.
Governance and reporting
- Produce clear, accurate Management Information and governance reporting for the Executive and Board.
- Support the SVP in the development and embedding of the firm's Target Operating Model.
- Act as a senior point of escalation for compliance queries across the business.
Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing compliance team, setting clear objectives and supporting individual development.
- Embed a culture of compliance awareness, ethical behaviour, and personal accountability across the function.
Measures of Success
- A structured, evidenced compliance monitoring programme operating to a defined annual plan.
- Reduction in compliance breaches and improved regulatory readiness across key obligation areas.
- Timely, accurate governance reporting supporting informed decision-making by the SVP, Executive, and Board.
- High completion rates for compliance training across the organisation.
Experience and Background
- Significant experience in a senior compliance role within a regulated or complex professional services environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and operating compliance monitoring frameworks.
- Experience providing regulatory advisory services and engaging with senior business stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of UK regulatory requirements relevant to Vialto's business activities.
