The Opportunity:

Booz Allen is seeking a Public Health Specialist to apply expert understanding of public health or life science expertise to advise on the design, development, and implementation of programs and policies for our clients. This person is expected to be able to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts to develop innovative solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity. A strong candidate will be able to communicate quickly and effectively with client staff including completing clear and concise report writing and oral presentations, and preparing materials to satisfy client needs for highly visible government agencies. This person may also serve as a subject matter expert and resource supporting the analytical planning and execution of health research data, primarily clinical trials data and bioinformatics analysis. A public health specialist will also need to assist with monitoring and assessing data integrity and accuracy using commonly accepted reliability and validity assurance practices appropriate for quantitative and qualitative data

Applies advanced advisory skills or extensive technical expertise with full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction. You Have:

• 3+ years of experience in a public health setting
• 2+ years of experience with federal or public health organizations and programs
• Experience completing individual tasks effectively
• Experience working in a team environment
• Knowledge of data analytics tools, including SAS, R, Python, or Tableau
• Ability to use verbal and written expertise to present data and research results to non-technical audiences in the form of reports, products, or deliverables, including PowerPoint briefing decks and information papers
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to apply critical thinking to a wide variety of problems
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
• Bachelor’s degree

 

Nice If You Have:

• Experience using data analytics tools, including SAS, R, Python, or Tableau
• Knowledge of project management
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems
• Ability to multitask
• Master's degree in public health or life science

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
