Description
- Assisting with compiling information and preparing routine or standardized reports, letters, and memos;
- Acting as a receptionist, providing a variety of information to the general public either face-to-face or over a telephone;
- Preparing file folders for records systems; sorting and filing material alphabetically, numerically, and/or by other predetermined categories and retrieving filed material; sorting and distributing mail to staff; collating materials; and running errands.
- May assist with the development and implementation of center programs, activities, meals and transportation needs.
- Coordinates and organizes activities and special events; programs include before and after school children’s programs, recreation activities, special events, and youth activities.
- Supervises program and facility guests, monitors activities, and enforces rules and safety standards.
- Assists participants in various recreation facilities and programs; sets up and takes down equipment for activities and events; supervises and coaches participants as directed.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and facilities in safe condition.
- May help children with homework and prepare snacks.
- Communicates with parents and clients to coordinate program activities and utilization of facilities.
- May coordinate transportation needs of participants by operating passenger vans. Performs vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of passengers. Assists with the coordination of maintenance repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Department policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct and safety of persons using recreational facilities and equipment.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Sports rules and regulations.
- Skill in communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.
Successful completion of a background investigation is required
For Senior Center Employees, having and maintaining an Arizona Driver’s License will be required, including passing ADOT physical examination.
Training, First Aid and CPR certifications may be required.
