Under general supervision, assists with the planning, organizing and implementing of recreation activities for a recreational, leisure or community service program for the City. Oversee proper use and participation in a community recreational activities, program and/or facility use.
- Plans, promote and conduct recreation activities, events and programs to interest various age groups; assists in the preparation of promotional materials; organizes and facilitates games and sports activities and provides instruction and leadership to program participants.
- Instructs, leads and participates in games and sports to demonstrate required skills and techniques and to encourage participation; registers and signs up participants for activities, programs, sports leagues, camps and tournaments; collects fees; plans, organizes and conducts arts and crafts activities and assists with special events.
- Coaches sports keeps score and officiates at games; supervises and monitors activities of the playground; observes participants to ensure that park rules and regulations are followed and a safe environment exists.
- Reviews and monitor the parks and facilities and reports incidents of vandalism, graffiti and suspicious activity to supervisors or law enforcement agencies; administers first aid for minor injuries; explains playground and City policies and procedures to the residents, patrons and parents of participants.
- Completes forms, accident and incident reports, inspection sheets, attendance reports, weekly activity schedules and other reports and documents for programs and activities as necessary.
- Performs periodic equipment inventory; checks playground equipment and accounts for equipment.
- Cleans up and set up the playground and activity rooms and areas; maintain equipment and performs other maintenance and custodial work in support of recreational activities.
Performs any and all other work as needed or assignedEquivalent to a High School Diploma, GED or its equivalent AND one (1) year of experience working with children, youth, and adults in a recreation setting.
- State of California issued driver's license.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate
