Description
Description
The Director of Facilities leads the management, maintenance, and improvement of every BHA property: the 84,000-square-foot headquarters and BHA Academy building, approximately 30 residential homes, and the Early Intervention Clinic. Reporting to the CFO, the Director oversees BHA’s maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and day porter, and manages all property management, maintenance, renovation, and building service vendors. The role puts structure around how BHA maintains its buildings: one work order system, preventive maintenance schedules, clear response standards, accountable vendors, and a multi-year capital plan.
BHA’s buildings are where people live, learn, and receive care 24 hours a day. The condition of a home or classroom affects the safety, dignity, and quality of life of the individuals we serve, and it is reviewed closely by DMH, DESE, fire marshals, and other regulators. Residential homes also see heavy wear and frequent property damage, and BHA continues to open new homes and locations. The Director of Facilities is expected to move BHA from reactive repairs and vendor follow-up to a planned, measurable facilities program; to keep every location safe, clean, functional, and inspection-ready; to control facilities costs; and to deliver renovations and new sites on time and on budget. Guided by BHA’s Core Values, the Director ensures every BHA environment reflects the respect and care we have for the people in it.
