Set directly on the River Thames in the heart of London’s South Bank, Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers brings together elevated British dining, exceptional hospitality and panoramic river views. Open from breakfast through to dinner, the restaurant celebrates the very best of British produce, from exceptional seafood and shellfish to Gordon Ramsay classics, alongside an expansive outdoor riverside terrace.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team at an exciting moment and play a key leadership role in bringing this new restaurant to life from the very beginning.

The role

As Senior Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef and wider culinary leadership team to lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional standards of food quality, consistency and service. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing the brigade, driving operational excellence and creating a positive, high-performing kitchen culture.

As a senior leader within the kitchen, you’ll take ownership of service, support menu development and help drive commercial performance, while coaching and developing the team to deliver an outstanding dining experience. You’ll also play a key role in establishing the standards, culture and ways of working that will underpin the successful launch and long-term success of Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers.

What you’ll be doing

• Work in close partnership with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen operation, ensuring smooth, efficient and consistent delivery across all services.
• Take a leading role in managing the brigade, setting clear expectations and maintaining exceptional standards under pressure.
• Oversee food preparation, quality, presentation and consistency, ensuring every dish meets the restaurant’s standards.
• Contribute to menu development and implementation, championing seasonality, exceptional British produce and culinary creativity.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior chefs and kitchen leaders, building a strong team culture and supporting career progression.
• Drive effective communication and collaboration across all kitchen sections and with the wider Food & Beverage team.
• Take ownership of stock management, ordering, waste reduction and kitchen costs, supporting strong financial performance.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety and company standards, leading by example at all times.
• Support recruitment, training and development to build a talented and motivated kitchen brigade.
• Contribute to the pre-opening and launch of Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers, helping establish the operational standards and culture for long-term success.
• Step into the Head Chef’s responsibilities when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and operational excellence.
