About the Lewis Family Playhouse at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center:
The Lewis Family Playhouse is an intimate, state-of-the-art performing arts center with 560 seats owned and operated by the City of Rancho Cucamonga. As a major anchor to the Victoria Gardens Lifestyle Shopping Center, the Lewis Family Playhouse educates, entertains, and ignites the imagination through high-quality performances for children, families, and audiences of all ages throughout Southern California. In addition to the Lewis Family Playhouse, the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center includes a 60-seat Black Box theatre, large-scale event spaces, and a newly opened outdoor courtyard stage!

The Community Services Department operates the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resource Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to the above-listed facilities, more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use.

The Community Services Department (CSD) offers a diverse range of programs for the community, including youth summer camps, youth sports, contracted classes, and several large special events. In addition to these events, CSD oversees the daily operations of several city facilities and parks to provide high-quality passive spaces for the community to gather. Community Services Leaders who apply to this post will be assigned to The Victoria Gardens Cultural Center.

Rental and Event Services - Lewis Family Playhouse at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center
This role will greet guests with a warm, friendly demeanor, offering assistance and answering questions when asked. Community Services Leaders will work to anticipate the needs of our patrons and clients, taking initiative to ensure that everyone has an exceptional experience while hosting or attending an event in one of our spaces. Community Services Leaders will assist with setup and teardown, monitoring private rentals in Celebration Hall, Lewis Family Playhouse, Mainstreet Lobby, Black Box, and the Courtyard. Community Services Leaders must be comfortable speaking with clients and patrons to understand event needs and solve challenges.
- Providing superior customer service to all clients and patrons.
- Greeting the community and welcoming them into our beautiful facilities.
- Identifying and resolving potential issues related to building operations.
- Setting up and striking for a variety of rentals.
- Serves as the first point of contact and information for our patrons, engaging them as a friendly, courteous, professional representative of the facility.
- Contribute to the rental team’s administration process by answering rental inquiries, filing forms, and preparing rental and information packets.

Education and/or Experience:Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience in the implementation of recreation or service programs or activities is desirable or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of procedures for implementing a variety of recreational activities and programs; program content for recreation activities; principles, practices and techniques of supervision and training. Ability to coordinate, organize, and implement recreation activities, services and specialized events; research, prepare and distribute publicity brochures, pamphlets etc. covering new or ongoing programs; supervise and train aides and volunteers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSFrequent standing and walking. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to fifty pounds such as files, stacks of paper, tables, chairs, and recreation materials. Moving from place to place within the recreation facility; some reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity and coordination to lead or officiate in athletic activities.Employees in this position are responsible for cleaning and disinfecting affected areas as needed, following established health and safety guidelines. This includes using appropriate protective equipment and following proper procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment, in line with all relevant training and safety standards.
WORKING CONDITIONSGenerally clean work environment with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, odors or noise. May work outside, evenings and weekends.
