FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE

Medical Health Associates (MHA) is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder to support its network of outpatient pediatric physician offices. This flexible position is available on a full-time or part-time basis and offers the opportunity to work primarily remotely after completing in-office training.

Flexible Schedule and Remote Work: Training will take place in the office. After completing training, you may work primarily remotely, with a minimum of four hours per week in the office. Outside of that required in-office time, you may create your own schedule based on your availability and the needs of the position.

The Certified Medical Coder reviews clinical documentation, assigns accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, ensures compliance with coding regulations, and supports appropriate reimbursement while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Essential Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient pediatric services.
• Ensure coding complies with payer guidelines, federal regulations, and organizational policies.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies by working collaboratively with providers and clinical staff.
• Review claims for coding accuracy prior to submission.
• Assist with denial management and coding-related appeals as needed.
• Stay current with coding updates, payer requirements, and regulatory changes.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• Current coding certification required (CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent).
• Minimum of two (2) years of medical coding experience in a physician office or medical practice required.
• Pediatric coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and payer-specific coding guidelines.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
