Description
We are seeking an entry level Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Bensalem, PA team. The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely payment of company obligations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account balances.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- 1-2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift to 15 pounds.
Work Environment
- Office environment with standard business hours. (M-F 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
