Job Purpose: To be responsible for ensuring the food safety, legality and quality of all products manufactured on site and in doing so ensuring that the technical product launch process is managed and supported from concept to launch.
To manage a system of Technical KPI’s through the site power BI reports and to highlight where targets are not being made with suggested corrective action plans for implementation.
To build relationships with customers and key stakeholders and key Technical service providers to ensure the business needs are met.
Managing the specifications and technical admin team on site, providing leadership and management of the team to deliver their roles effectively and to provide succession planning for the future.

Main Duties:
|
Factory (30%)
- Develop and manage the specification technologists and the technical services agenda.
- Management of Laboratory contract.
- Management of the Pest Control contract.
- Management of complaints.
- Management of Change management process
- Technical Management of the Launch process from end to end.
- Management of customer specification and artwork generation.
- Management of site annual shelf life and nutritional validation programme.
- Management of annual Code Approval.
- Export Management (Inc Vet Attestations)
- Support site Customer visits.
- BOP Comparisons & assessments
- Outer Case Label Generation
- Brand Integrity – Product Claim management

People (20%)
- Produce relevant KPI reports or Technical updates.
- Ensuring effective management of team members with clear development to support the sites succession planning.
- Guide and support team through the day-to-day challenges and support action plans for a 100-year fix.
- Appraisals x 2 year.
- Resource planning.
- Managing all ER related issues for team, including disciplinaries, performance management.
- Promoting and leading change management through driving good behaviours and leading by example.
- Attending relevant cross functional site meetings and presenting technical data.
- Attending relevant technical management meetings and presenting technical data.
- Collaborating, educating and training relevant factory staff to support the development of a stronger Food Safety & Quality Culture.

- Develop strong working relationships with our service providers.
- Develop strong working requirements with our suppliers.

- To manage customer queries in a prompt and efficient manner and to seek solutions to any issues of concern.

Project work (10%)
- Support implementation of technical strategy and food safety and quality culture plan.
- Support Continuous improvement plans such as complaint reduction, quality improvement & non-conformance reduction.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Food safety (Advanced) Desirable
- Level 3 HACCP Desirable
- Group and site induction.
- Food-related BSc qualification or sufficient industry experience
Experience / Knowledge:
- Relevant food manufacturing experience in a similar role.
- Recognised PC skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
