This position is responsible to support the Global Operations Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) – NPD team in developing, qualifying, and launching new products for the Sports Medicine Franchise.
The Advanced Mfg. Engineer I – NPD is part of the new product development team and will work with cross-functional teams both locally and at various manufacturing sites. This position is responsible for supporting timeline milestone commitments while meeting all Safety, Quality, and Cost requirements.
We are looking for a motivated, driven, and technically curious individual that can drive execution in a very diverse and challenging environment. This individual will be working in both cross-functional group settings as well as independently with the support of a technically strong, experienced, and highly motivated team.
Under supervisory direction, this individual will assist in the development of capable processes and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product from design into production.
What will you be doing?
Supports equipment specification and equipment implementation.
Works with partner groups at manufacturing sites to gain alignment and support to achieve project objectives.
Supports design for manufacturability (DFM).
Supports Process Mapping and risk management documentation.
Supports the creation and review of process flow charts, assembly line layouts, capacity analysis and line balance.
Provides input for the development of tooling and fixtures required to support NPD activities.
Supports the execution of lab studies and testing methods.
Creates specifications, drawings, process instructions (MPIs), bills of materials (BOMs) and routers.
Supports problem solving, root cause analysis and implementation of sound engineering solutions. Assist in NC investigations.
Participates and supports prototype builds, verification, and validation builds.
Supports the development, execution, data analysis, and report writing for validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ and TMV).
Consistently meets expectations while accomplishing tasks and meeting goals and objectives in a timely manner.

What will you need to be successful?
Successful candidates would need the following:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
Solid Works is a plus
English level: B2 minimum.
Knowledge of Design Controls and Process Validation is a plus.
Statistical knowledge is a plus (MSA and capability analysis).
Experience:
Preferably with at least 1 year of professional work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience solving basic technical issues and developing solutions within the scope of responsibility.
Experience or education in various metal, plastic and/or electronics manufacturing methods, including but not limited to welding, machining, injection molding, circuit assembly, electrical testing and programming is a plus.
Competencies:
Must be able to communicate effectively, while working with cross-functional teams to achieve desired results.
Must build productive internal/external relationships and collaborate with others in teams.
Must be able to complete assignments with directional input and periodic guidance.
The ability to understand, interpret, follow, and improve Quality Systems.
Requires organizational and time management skills.
Basic knowledge of operations deliverables / documentation.

Position: Mostly sitting
Repetitive Motion: Mostly computer use to 50/50 sitting/standing.
Chemical Exposure: No chemicals exposure or cleaning use only to occasional chemical exposure.
Physical Risk (Personal Protective Equipment – PPE): No PPE required to occasional PPE usage.
Able to view items through microscope.
