Description
This is a unique opportunity to work in an independent environment while also having access to all the opportunities and benefits that a large academic institution can offer such as coverage for PTO and other time off. This is a solo Dosimetry position, and the successful candidate will be joining a department with one Radiation Oncologist, one Physicist and three Therapists treating 20 patients a day on one linac.
Minimum qualifications include a CMD by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board, a bachelor’s degree in science and a minimum of four (4) years of full-time dosimetry experience to include IMRT, VMAT and SBRT.
Duties include performing dose calculations, developing and implementing conventional and advanced image based computer plans, design and fabrication of treatment aid devices, and conducting routine dose measurements. Additional duties include oversight of all patient setup and simulation as well participation in department quality management and improvement initiatives.
South Hill, Virginia is located in south-central Virginia, close to Lake Gaston, Kerr Lake and the North Carolina border. South Hill is also a short drive away from Richmond VA, Raleigh NC, the Atlantic Ocean and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This area is known for all types of outdoor activities such as water sports, hiking, biking and fishing to name a few.

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of four (4) years of full-time dosimetry experience to include IMRT, stereotactic or brachytherapy planning

Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science (e.g. chemistry, biophysics, dosimetry, radiation therapy, radiologic science or other physical science)
Education/training PREFERRED:
Master’s Degree in Dosimetry from a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program
Independent action(s) required:
Actions carried out by Senior Dosimetrists without prior approval include routine computer and simple calculations for radiotherapy treatment planning, image acquisition, consultation, and treatment aid device fabrication and dose measurements with thermo luminescent dosimeters.
Supervisory advice and guidance are given for any non-routine or complex treatment planning and/or calibration.

Compensation Range
$128,981.00 - $199,909.00Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
