Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office four times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

What You’ll Do

Execute projects on the Dimensional process thread for GMNA, GMSA & GMK region. Generate optimized Dimentional Plans on various BIW & plastic parts in Unigraphics (NX)/Polyworks & delivering them to our Manufacturing sites. Our organization provide opportunities to innovate, improve & encourages in challenging the status quo.

Dimensional plans are utilized to Dimensionally validate the product by plants launch team, matching team & VDQM to monitor, validate, troubleshoot the Dimensional related issues across different GM plants which further helps the organization to exceed customer requirements. DME Engineers in India are experienced & capable of creating Dimentional Plans from simple to complex parts which helps meet stakeholder expectations.

xecute Measurement Point System Projects for GMNA region. Generate optimized measurement points on various BIW parts in Unigraphics (NX) & delivering them to our Manufacturing sites. Our organization provide opportunities to innovate, improve & encourages in challenging the status quo.

Measurement Point files are utilized to Dimensionally validate the product & ensures right product moves in station across different GM plants which further helps the organization to meet customer enthusiasm. MPS Engineers in India are experienced & capable of creating measurement points from simple to complex parts which helps meet stakeholder expectations.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputed institute in Mechanical/Automobile/Production/Industrial Engineering
• 2-8 years of relevant proven experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering.
• Learn GM Global DME Standards for Dimensional plan generation.
• Analyze the input required for a project
• Develop Dimensional plans for Stampings, Assemblies, Ploymer /plastic parts on the dimensional process thread as per standardized process using Tool Unigraphics, Polyworks & Team Center.
• Developing & deliver dimensional reports (Dataloop) for BIW & General Assembly parts Metrics as per the Global Standards ( A, B, C & Overall performance Metric)
• Develop Gap & flush Dimensional plans for BIW, Ploymer /plastic parts
• Develop Body structure Dimentional plans for analysis of BIW overall dimensional accuracy(VBTAC).
• Develop Featureline analysis & Virtual Painted vehicle analysis review plans & reports
• Correlation study of dimensional plan and CMM measured metric data for analysis
• Coordination of all GMNA, GMSA, GMK Projects for Dimensional Metrology processes
• Understand the Project Scope & complete the resource planning to meet the delivery date
• Apply project management skills for monitoring and controlling project scope, issues, risks,  schedule & support in workload planning.
• Support team in resolving project roadblocks with his expertise
• Perform Quality check of completed files & provide suggestions for improvement.
• Provide Productivity Improvement ideas & encourage Team for the same
• Train New Engineers to develop their technical skills
• Review the Customer feedback & make action plan accordingly

The incumbent will learn all the requirements of the job, execute initially under guidance and supervision and later own projects and deliver value to the organization. A typical DME Engineer works on multiple projects in a year that supports launch of multiple car programs and add to the top line of the organization.

Knowledge:

-   Basic Manufacturing Process of sheetmetal & plastic parts concepts

-   Automotive Vehicle / Body-In-white processes and product launch.

-   Unigraphics (NX), Polyworks, Teamcenter (GOM added advantage)

-   automation/basic python/data analytics and Power BI knowledge (added advantage)

-   Automotive Body In White Structure and Build Process

-   Checking fixtures, Measument gauges

-   Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) & scanning technotlogy - working principles, interpreting dimensional data  ( Hands on scanning experience is – added advantage)

-  Strong proficiency in interpriting drawings, GD&T, and understanding synergies.

-   Basic Project management

-   Strong verbal and written communication, with capability to create and deliver high‑impact leadership presentations.

-   Excellent learning agility, interpersonal skills, and analytical/problem‑solving abilities.

-   Proficient in MS Office for documentation, reporting, and presentation needs.

-   Analytical & Reasoning Skills: Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns, and draw logical, evidence-based conclusions.

-   Problem Solving: Skill in identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective, practical solutions.

-   Basic Quality Tools: Proficiency in using fundamental quality tools (5 why?, Pareto, Fishbone, Check Sheets, Flowcharts) for process analysis and improvement.
