Client Service Coordinator / Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a full-time Client Service Coordinator (CSR) to be the welcoming face and voice of our practice. This is primarily a client service/front desk position, but because we are a small, collaborative team, there will be times when you may also assist with patient care and support the medical team.

Previous veterinary experience and the ability to assist with patients are preferred, but your primary focus will be creating an exceptional experience for our clients—from the first phone call through the end of their visit.

Sheridan Pet Care is a locally owned and intentionally independent small animal practice devoted to caring for dogs and cats through every stage of life. We provide comprehensive services including:

• Surgery
• Advanced dentistry with full-mouth dental radiographs
• Internal medicine
• A fully equipped in-house lab and pharmacy
• Both in-clinic and house-call appointments

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be client service and front desk support. You will help create a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for every client who interacts with Sheridan Pet Care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming clients and patients to the practice
• Answering phones and responding to client texts and messages
• Scheduling and coordinating appointments
• Helping clients navigate their visits with warmth and clear communication
• Maintaining accurate client and patient information
• Supporting efficient communication between clients and the medical team
• Keeping the reception area organized and welcoming

Because we are a small team, flexibility is important. There may be times when you are asked to step away from the front desk and help our technicians and doctors with basic veterinary assisting duties. Depending on your experience and comfort level, this could include patient handling and restraint, preparing exam rooms, helping with laboratory tasks, maintaining treatment areas, and other general patient-care support.

Veterinary assisting will be a secondary part of this position—the CSR role will remain your primary focus.

Previous veterinary assisting experience is preferred, particularly in a small-practice environment where team members often help across roles. Fear Free handling experience is a plus. A willingness to learn is essential.
