Position Summary

The Director of Operations - Tennessee is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, growth, and operational excellence of Team Mobile Health Care’s assigned service areas. This position provides direct leadership and support to Operations Managers while ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, efficient, and patient-centered transportation services.

The Director of Operations - Tennessee serves as a strategic leader focused on operational performance, employee development, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and organizational growth. The position works collaboratively with executive leadership, facility partners, and operational teams to support Team Mobile Health Care’s mission of providing compassionate, reliable, and high-quality patient transportation services.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Provide leadership and oversight for all assigned operational divisions and service locations.
• Ensure daily operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support and mentor Operations Managers in achieving organizational goals and performance expectations.
• Monitor system performance and implement operational improvements to enhance delivery service.
• Develop and maintain operational standards, policies, and procedures.

Team Leadership & Employee Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers and supervisory personnel, and direct the development and coaching of field crew employees.
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
• Support employee engagement efforts and promote a positive workplace culture.
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations, corrective action, investigations, and performance management.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and EMS regulatory requirements.
• Serve as Quality and Compliance Coordinator for assigned operations service area.
• Monitor incident reports, safety events, customer concerns, and compliance matters.
• Lead corrective action initiatives and process improvement efforts when necessary.
• Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation reviews.
• Ensure all personnel maintain required licensure, certifications, and training requirements.

Customer Relations & Business Development

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare facilities, behavioral health providers, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Serve as a primary operational liaison for assigned customers and service partners.
• Participate in customer meetings, contract discussions, and service reviews.
• Support organizational growth initiatives and expansion opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Financial & Administrative Management

• Assist in developing and managing operational budgets.
• Monitor labor utilization, productivity, fleet utilization, and key performance indicators.
• Review operational reports and provide leadership with accurate performance metrics.
• Ensure responsible stewardship of company resources, equipment, and assets.
• Support strategic planning and organizational growth objectives.

Fleet & Equipment Oversight

• Ensure operational readiness and proper maintenance of fleet and equipment.
• Monitor vehicle utilization and replacement planning.
• Promote fleet safety initiatives and risk management programs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and organizational initiatives.
• Represent Team Mobile Health Care at industry events, conferences, and community functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, EMS Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and leadership experience may be considered.

Experience

• Five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience in EMS, healthcare transportation, healthcare operations, or related field.
• Multi-site operational leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing leaders and large employee groups.
• Experience with budgeting, performance management, and operational planning.
• Strong knowledge of ambulance operations, healthcare transportation, and regulatory compliance.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Experience with scheduling, CAD, reporting, payroll, and operational software systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Primarily office-based with regular travel to operational locations.
• Ability to travel throughout Tennessee, Georgia, and other company service areas as needed.
• Occasional evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities may be required.
• Ability to perform duties in both office and field environments.

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal compensation practices.
