Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Unit Manager (RN) to provide clinical leadership and oversight for a resident care unit. This role is responsible for coordinating resident care, supervising nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting exceptional resident outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily clinical operations of an assigned resident care unit
Ensure residents receive quality care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans
Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including CNAs and LPNs
Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely follow-up on changes in status
Conduct rounds and address resident, family, and staff concerns
Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation
Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
Support survey readiness efforts and quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate with physicians, therapy staff, families, and other departments to promote positive resident outcomes
Assist nursing leadership with staffing, training, and employee development initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Current, unrestricted RN license in South Carolina
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
Strong understanding of resident care planning, clinical documentation, and regulatory compliance
Experience managing and supporting nursing staff preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Current CPR certification
Must maintain all required continuing education and licensure requirements
Must remain in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing
Skills & Abilities
Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
