Description
Chord Energy is seeking an innovative, results oriented, and process driven field operations engineering technician. This position will provide technical support for various field operations teams. This role works closely with operations and engineering to gather and analyze data in support of company operations. The position is based out of our Robinson Lake, Watford City, or Williston offices. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Perform routine data quality assurance and quality control to ensure operational, environmental, and financial information is accurate, complete, and reliable.
Maintain operational records, handover documentation, contact information, and milestone tracking for startup, commissioning, and ongoing production activities.
Develop, maintain, and support dashboards, reports, data sources, and other analytical tools used to monitor operational and financial performance.
Prepare recurring operating expense, accrual, budget, and cost-analysis data and summarize results for business review.
Maintain cost classifications, mappings, exclusions, and related business rules to support consistent financial reporting.
Reconcile financial review outputs with operational performance metrics and reporting tools.
Create and maintain data dictionaries, workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and other documentation for critical systems, workbooks, and data processes.
Standardize reporting processes, documentation practices, templates, and data governance procedures across assigned workstreams.
Support business intelligence and reporting platforms through system coordination, user support, training, and continuous improvement.
Maintain an inventory of dashboards, reports, data products, and assigned ownership to promote effective governance and support.
Partner with field leadership and cross-functional teams to identify reporting needs, resolve data or process gaps, and improve workflow accuracy.
Support audits and compliance activities by organizing, validating, and providing required documentation and data evidence.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree, preferably in a technology-based program
One year or more experience in analytics
Proficient in standard computer applications and digital tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Experience preparing and maintaining databases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and adapt to evolving business needs
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet established deadlines
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Two (2) years’ experience in the E&P sector
Experience with production programs (e.g. Aries, ProCount, WellView, Enertia)
Experience with PowerBI/Fabric and Sigma
Working experience writing SQL, python, or similar coding language
Knowledge of production operations
