Risk Management is responsible for protecting the Group’s and Bankwest’s interests by offering insightful, commercial yet independent risk leadership approach to managing risks. The Board and Regulators trust Risk Management to be the line of defence that ensures returns are achieved within an acceptable level of risk. As the Governance Manager, your main focus will be to support operational risk and assurance activities across Retail Credit Risk, working with the risk teams to ensure there is adequate implementation, management and oversight over the adherence with the Operational and Compliance Risk Management Frameworks (ORMF and CRMF).
Key responsibilities for this role includes:
Supporting operational and compliance risk management activities such as assessment of risks, controls, issues and incidents, with a focus on providing relevant insights linked to key business initiatives and key risks;
Having a pragmatic approach and exercising judgment to ensure compliance with the ORMF and CRMF while maximising the benefit for the business and customers;
Providing a ‘bigger picture’ as to how risk activities support the business in achieving its strategy;
Reporting on risk exposures in the preparation of reporting for Non-Financial Risk Committees or other risk reporting as needed;
Building strong working relationships with Group functions, Line 2 risk and business stakeholders.
Support the EM, GM and LT with the Quarterly and Annual Business Planning cycle and track progress towards key objectives
Coordinate and curate papers or input into papers, in preparation for Board, Senior Leadership and Committees
Support the tracking and achievement of key business targets, including financial performance, customer satisfaction and people performance
What successful candidates will look like?

You will also be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management and critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to apply judgment to achieve pragmatic outcomes.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Curious and inquisitive;
Analytical capability with ability to extract relevant data and manipulate to draw insights;
Strong knowledge of Financial Services, with experience in Retail Credit Risk and governance is highly advantageous
Good knowledge of operational and compliance risk management frameworks, tools and techniques;
Good understanding of key business processes and internal controls;
Demonstrated experience in monitoring/assurance activities, including control testing, issues and incidents monitoring;
A demonstrated self-starter with a strong sense of accountability.
Flexibility in adapting the level of detail in work, verbal and written communication to the relevant stakeholders;
Experience in managing multiple stakeholders, including ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders;
Highly proficient in MS365 and a range of collaboration tools to support administrative functions and efficient collaboration
Teamwork focus with excellence in driving results and delivering customer satisfaction.
